Tree roots and Asphalt pathways

When tree roots can't be damaged, we have a solution. We can build a pathway over the top.
You will see in these photos steel plates have been placed over garden mulch to protect the roots.
We then put emulsion on the steel plates to bind the asphalt. Then we lay asphalt over the top to form the pathway.

Here is an example from a job we recently completed in Newmarket.

Asphalt compaction

With the compaction of asphalt so important for the best finished job, and to be compacted within the specs for the product, we regularly update our compaction equipment.
We recently purchased a new Ammann AVP1250 plate compactor that has been designed especially for asphalt. This is a very workable plate compactor for our smaller jobs which we specialise in.

A better asphalt result

After recently completing this driveway overlay for our client we were happy that our client wanted to do the remainder as they were so happy with the result. After being quoted to remove reconstruct and replace which would of cost thousands they decided to get Budget Asphalt to do the overlay which was far more cost effective with the same if not better result.

Beware of dodgy operators

Unfortunately, there are plenty of backyard operators in the asphalt repair industry. There are common traps that will lead to disappointment and cause pedestrians and businesses to be inconvenienced. However, all of this can be avoided if you are careful and know what to look for.

To avoid dodgy jobs and expensive repairs down the track here are a few things to be aware of when contracting your asphalt job:

  • Underquoting - be careful of operators that quote a ridiculously cheap price. Some will actually quote you less than what they know it will cost them to do the job leading to YOU being stung with extras down the track.
  • Incomplete quoting - make sure that your quote includes everything that will be needed to complete the job.
  • No fixed timeframes - get your timing expectations in writing.
  • Using sub-standard materials - make sure your contractor is using quality materials best suited for the job and not watered down or defective asphalt.
